Local restaurateur Jimmy Eggl has been in the restaurant business in Milford for 30 years. His first venture was Hector and Jimmy’s, which is still going strong in it’s original location across fromteh entranced toe the Prospect Hill shopping mall. He has two other locations in Milford - The Bar at the south end of the downtown and Gravity right in the middle of downtown. Each place has a unique atmosphere and menu. Hector and Jimmy’s is family oriented and moderately priced, with a nice assortment of Mexican dishes in addition to what might be described as Roadhouse fair and an assortment of craft beers as well as moderately priced wines and cocktails. The Bar is as it sounds, more bar oriented with a flavorful assortment of bar food and sandwiches to compliment its full service bar. Gravity is a more intimate setting and a little more upscale with higher-end entrees and a wonderful martini bar.
In September Jimmy is celebrating being open 30 years at Hector & Jimmy’s with a party and music in the parking lot on September 12. Join Jimmy and congratulate him for his success. Jimmy likes to describe himself as a poor, humble boy from Toledo. For having such an inauspicious beginning he has certainly done well and added to the success of Milford.
My wife and I eat at Hector & Jimmy’s a couple of times a month, at least. It is comfortable and the food is good. What more can you ask of a restaurant? For more about Hector & Jimmy’s click here to visit their web site
