New Business Opens -

Huron Valley Guns

Another new business opened in Milford on June 30th - the Huron Valley Guns store. The store which features new, used and consignment guns of all types, plus ammunition and supplies for hunters or shooters. There is even stuff for bow hunters, paint ball enthusiasts and campers in the large, nicely decorated store. The store has Tasers and law enforcement equipment, as well.

The store is a family affair with the whole Swadish family pitching in on opening day. Ed Swadish is the owner and sons Spence and Nick will also be working in the store. Jim Carter, a pistol instructor, competitive shooter and range safety officer will also be working as a salesman in the store.

There was a long line to get in the store when it opened Saturday morning and a steady crowd all day long, which supports Swadish’s view that the Milford and Huron Valley area was under served in this retail niche. The store ran a one-day raffle for a rifle on opening day.

The store is located in the former Farmer Jack Plaza at 143 S. Milford Rd. It’s next to the Panda Kitchen. Houres of operation are Monday thru Saturday, 10 am until 8 pm and Sunday, 10 am until 5 pm. You can call them at (248)714-6173.

Swadish emphasized that they will be focused upon training people to use safely the guns that they buy and making sure that the proper identification and background checks are done on all buyers.
